Snapped Producer David Lane with the murder weapon rack |
Last week, I went one of my favorite cities, Knoxville, Tennessee, to tape an interview for an episode of Snapped. I simply love that place–I have never encountered friendlier people anywhere. The guys in the Snapped film crew were no exception. They all made me feel like I’d come home.
The picture above was taken in warehouse building. If it looks like an outdoor shot, it’s not just because of the plants in the background. The area has daylight lighting and it looked pretty realistic to me.
We talked about Raynella Dossett Leath, the woman in my eleventh and latest true crime book HER DEADLY WEB. Raynella claimed her first husband died in a cattle stampede and the second in a three-shot suicide. She was convicted of killing the latter and received a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Within the story, you’ll find another man who Raynella attempted to murder as well as a secret city, a love child and two medical examiners threatening law enforcement with firearms. You couldn’t make this stuff up.
The Snapped episode about her case will air in the next season of the show, most likely in July. In the meantime, you can catch me this Saturday night on Deadly Sins, a new show on Investigation Discovery. I’ll be talking about the Dean Faiello-Mariz Cruz case in my book, UNDER THE KNIFE.
