The Fanning Book Syndicate

Pete and Diane Fanning on their first joint event ever

Last weekend, for the very first time, my stepson Pete Fanning and I were at the same book event. We had a blast at the Amherst Public Library talking to readers and selling books. What we write is very different. My books are true crime and crime fiction. Pete writes Young Adult books under the name S.A. Fanning and middle-grade books as Pete Fanning—a distinction his publisher thought was necessary but ai never really understood.

Legally, Pete’s name is Shawn Alan Fanning. When he was little his older sister Ivy nicknamed him Pete and that has always stuck. Just about everybody knows him by that name.

If you have any children in your life in their pre-teen or teen years, you should check out Pete’s books. He tackles many of the real life problems kids face as well as writing a very entertaining story. I’ll never forget the first book of his that I read: Justice in a Bottle. It is a good read for children 8 years and up. His main character is a feisty young girl who stands up for justice.

His latst book, Right Cross, is a young adult book. It is a story about a young man struggling to rise above his father’s past and keep his family safe.

Check out his books and mine, too, while you’re at it.
